How to sell more using email marketing

Email Marketing is one of the best revenue drivers of businesses these days. So if you're looking for ways to be able to sell more products or services via email then this post is for you.

We reveal 7 tactics that will not only help you to increase sales but will also not burn out your subscribers.

Spark Some Interest & Gain Some Insight

Instead of blind siding your subscribers with a barrage of emails related to your promotion why not send out a teaser piece instead?

One of the key reasons people sign-up to your newsletter is to get information that they can't get anywhere else. So here's a chance to do just that.

Why not ask them to join a VIP "Be the 1st to Know" list?

This will help you to:

•    Test interest
•    Give you a list of people who have raised their hands in regards to what you're offering

Another good thing about this tactic is that you can always have this group of eager subscribers give you valuable feedback. Once they've raised their hand showing their interest why not send out a quick survey? This will give you the chance to discover what they really want from your product or service.

You can even entice them to fill out the survey for a chance to win your product or service for free.

And you can then use that feedback to adjust your landing page copy, tweak your campaign strategy and improve the product itself.

The Customer as the Hero Stories

If you already have testimonials in regards to your product or service why not create a couple "Customer as the Hero" stories?

People love to read about people. So showcase the customers that have had a big problem, how it was killing their business and how your product or service helped then turn things around.

One Mission Per Message

In "4 Email Marketing Hacks for BIG Results" we first talked about the "One Mission Per Message" concept.

Don't bury your message in a mess of information.

If you want to sell more via your email marketing this is key.

Let your campaign messages have a single focus. If it's still early in the campaign don't try and send out your sales letter via email.

Let your email do the compelling and your landing page do the selling.

Clear Call to Actions

This point ties directly into the, "One Mission per Message" theme.

Have clear call to actions throughout your email message. Make them stand out. And be sure that the can be easily spotted on mobile devices (because that's probably where your subscribers are going to open up your messages 1st anyways).

Use Pop Culture References

Old school marketer Dan Kennedy is a master at this. Working into his email marketing stories that pull in what's going on in popular culture.

He then masterfully steers those references back to the campaign and his objective – to sell more stuff that people need.

Discover what people are already buzzing about and find a way to work that into your campaigns.

It's Not Selling – It's an Exciting Event

You've worked hard on your product or service. It's awesome and will help your community with a BIG problem they're facing.

Well, why not share that excitement?

I'm not saying that you need to throw a ticker-tape parade when you go to launch. But in selling, enthusiasm is contagious. Why not share that enthusiasm in some way within your initial promo messages.

Maximize Your P.S.

The P.S. is one of the most under-used tactics out there.

This prime real estate gives you a chance to really distill down what you're trying to say with a clear call to action in as few words as possible.

So many people will quickly flip through your email and let it rest at the bottom of the message.

Use this space wisely to boost sales.

Email Marketing Can Boost Sales

Email marketing can easily boost your sales if done right. Rember that keeping your subscribers happy doesn't have to be in direct conflict with your revenue goals.

Just look at your email differently. Your subscribers are not just numbers. They're living, breathing people that you serve. They have needs and wants. Help them with their problems, make their day a little brighter with the messages you send and in turn they wll thank you - with priase and increased profits.

Hope you're having a great week!

I've spent the last couple of hours browsing through your blog articles and I don't just find them entertaining, but they are hugely instructive as well. Thank you very much. I keep a blog myself and I know full well how much effort goes into a *good* blog article, so I know none of this was written on the back of a beer mat. I hope you continue in this vein, Best of luck with the product.
